Planning a safe removal
A removal plan should account for the tree’s structure, a safe working area, nearby property and how material will be lowered, processed and removed. Straight felling is only suitable where there is enough clear space. In tighter gardens, the tree may need to be dismantled in controlled sections. The final method can only be chosen after the site and tree have been assessed.
- Open felling is generally quicker than dismantling a tree piece by piece.
- Long carrying routes and restricted gates slow waste handling.
- Wind, rain and unsafe ground conditions can require a revised plan.
Before accepting the quotation
Read the written scope carefully. It should make clear which tree is involved, what happens to branches and timber, whether the stump is included and what access has been assumed. Tell the contractor about concealed drains, weak surfaces and shared routes. Protected-tree and wildlife checks must be completed before work starts.
How James David Forestry Ltd can help
James David Forestry Ltd works across Liverpool, Merseyside, Wirral, Ormskirk and Lancashire. We assess the actual tree, access and surroundings before recommending work. Clear photographs can be useful for initial guidance, but some questions need a site visit and we will not diagnose a dangerous or diseased tree from website information alone.
